Pocket Timesheet

Privacy policy

Last updated 2026-11-06.

Pocket Timesheet is a free hours calculator on this website and an iPhone app in development. This page covers both. We don’t sell data, and we don’t use advertising trackers.

The website

  • The calculator. What you type (times, breaks, rates, your name) stays in your browser’s local storage on your device so you can come back to it. It is never sent to us. “Clear” removes it.
  • Analytics. We use PostHog to count page views and how the site is used (for example, that the calculator was used or a timesheet printed). PostHog runs with in-memory persistence: no cookies and no stored identifiers, so a visit can’t be linked to a later one. We never send what you type into the calculator.
  • The waitlist. If you join, we store your email address, the optional “I’m a…” choice, the kind of device (iPhone, Android or other) and the page you joined from. This is kept in a Cloudflare D1 database and used only to email you once when the app launches.
  • Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes standard request data (such as IP address) to deliver and protect the site.

The iPhone app

  • Your shifts stay on your phone. Shifts, breaks, rates and your name are stored on the device. There is no account and no server copy.
  • Backup (Pro). If you turn on backup, the app saves a backup file in your own iCloud Drive. We can’t see it.
  • Analytics. The app uses PostHog with in-memory persistence to count events such as onboarding finished, clock in and clock out, a PDF shared, or a Pro screen shown. Events never include shift times, rates, pay, names or notes.
  • Purchases. Pro is bought through Apple. We receive no payment details.
  • Settings from this website. The app reads a small settings file from this site to switch off a Pro feature if it misbehaves. That request carries no personal data.

Deleting your data

To be removed from the waitlist or to ask any question about your data, email [email protected]. Data in your browser or on your phone is yours: clearing the calculator or deleting the app removes it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
